Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 19-year-old man accused of pimping a teenage girl and trying to kidnap her.

Prosecutors charged Dominique Trevon Dinwiddie on Tuesday with first-degree promoting prostitution, attempted first-degree kidnapping and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Court documents provide the following information:

A 15-year-old girl who Lakewood police arrested on suspicion of prostitution in late August told police Dinwiddie was her pimp. She said they’d been dating for about a year when he told her he needed money and convinced her to help him by working as a prostitute.

The next day, the teen said, Dinwiddie took her and another 15-year-old girl to “work,” telling them how much to charge and providing condoms and other supplies.

The girl said Dinwiddie took her cell phone and, at the end of the day, picked up the girls and demanded their earnings.

“(She) said she was required to make $500 to $600 per night and that if she did not, the defendant would keep her out on the street until she did,” court documents state. “She said she was required to call the defendant ‘Daddy.’”

After her arrest, the girl said Dinwiddie repeatedly called her and sent her text messages, telling her to leave home and return to him. She said Dinwiddie followed her one day and tried to force her into his car, but she was able to get away.

The next day, the teen said, two females associates of Dinwiddie came to the girl’s house and said they were going to take her to Dinwiddie.

The teen agreed to meet Dinwiddie, but alerted officers about the meeting. When he showed up at the location on South 72nd Street, police were there to arrest him. He ran but was taken into custody after being stunned with a Taser.

Officers found a .22-caliber gun they believe Dinwiddie had thrown under a car.
