The American Red Cross Mount Rainier Chapter is looking for heroes to honor as part of its annual community celebration and fundraiser.
Nominees for the Red Cross Real Heroes Awards may have saved a life, performed a heroic act or pitched in when needed. They may be professionals or ordinary citizens.
Awards are given in, but not limited to, 911 dispatch, animal rescue, fire safety, youth humanitarian, adult humanitarian, law enforcement, medical rescue, military, spirit of the Red Cross, wilderness rescue and workplace safety.
Nominations are due Oct. 23. Find more information and a nomination form at www.rainier-redcross.org or call 253-474-0400.
The awards will be given during the chapters annual breakfast on Dec. 4 at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma.
