Man in mask takes money from University Place bank

University Place sheriff’s deputies were searching Thursday for a robber who wore a hockey-style mask during a holdup of a University Place bank branch.
The Chase Bank at 6916 19th St. W. was robbed just after 10 a.m. when a man walked up to the outside of the bank, slipped on a the mask and then walked inside, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. The robber did not imply or show a weapon during the heist. He ran away with an undetermined amount of money. The robber was described as a white man, in his 30s and about 6 feet, 1 inch tall with a medium to stocky build.
