Sumner High School is hosting its first field show competition Saturday, featuring student bands across South Sound.
The event takes place 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Chev Stadium, 1701 Main St. Auburn Mountainview , Bainbridge Island, Yakima Eisenhower and Bonney Lake high schools are sending their marching bands to compete.
The Seattle Seahawks Blue Thunder Drum Line will perform, led by Sumner High School graduate Mike Roling.
The field competition is the senior project of Sumner High band member Mason Longnecker. Tickets are $5 per person and $15 for a family of four. Children under 5 receive free admission. Proceeds will go to the Sumner Band Association.
