The second public swine flu vaccine clinic in Pierce County will be held Saturday at Clover Park High School in Lakewood, county Health Department officials announced Tuesday.
The Tacoma Pierce County Health Department has received three shipments of H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine since Friday, which means the school-based clinic “is a go,” said Tacoma Pierce County Health Department spokeswoman Eileen Finnigan.
She said the department will allocate from about 2,000 to 2,200 doses of H1N1 vaccine for the clinic. Most of the vaccine will be in the form of nasal mist, she said.
The free clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or whenever the vaccine runs out. The high school is at 11023 Gravelly Lake Drive S.W., in Lakewood.
The clinic is targeting healthy youths aged 2 to 24 years and pregnant women, Finnigan said.
