A car that flipped on Interstate 5 near Federal Way was causing major traffic backups early Wednesday, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The accident occurred about 6:20 a.m. on northbound I-5 near state Route 18.
The crash blocked two lanes and traffic extended about 3 miles into Pierce County.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
Update as of 6:57 a.m. The car had been set upright but traffic was moving slowly.
