Apparently the British know to conduct a proper bar fight. This recently released video shows a 20-person brawl that occurred in Leeds, England, in mid February. Men can be seen throwing chairs, along with punches. One 28-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a head injury. Police are searching for more suspects.
A Vancouver police officer scolded a mother for leaving her children, ages 3 and 6, in a hot car while she grocery shopped on the afternoon of July 3. Police said they received multiple emergency calls about two children, who were said to be in distress while alone inside the locked car as the alarm also went off. The mother was reportedly inside the grocery store for 20 minutes.
Jonathan the Giant Tortoise, the oldest known living land animal on Earth, estimated to be 184-years-old, was washed for the first time in recorded history by vet Dr. Joe Hollins. This historic event took place in the grounds of Plantation House, St. Helena Island on March 19, 2016. Bathing him was purely for aesthetic reasons. "We want visitors and tourists on the Island to witness the tortoises in their true form, without the obstruction of moss and lichen on their shells... and we want all who visit him to see him at his best,” said Hollins, who has been hand-feeding him over the past few years.
Video shows panicked skiers being launched from and abandoning a malfunctioning chair lift at a ski resort in the former Soviet republic of Georgia. According to news reports, the lift was made by Doppelmayr, the same Austrian-Swiss company that installed chairs at Crystal Mountain ski resort.
Jacob Skylar Allen Lee was sentenced Friday to 23 years in prison for vehicular homicide. Christopher Grice, 36, was killed while riding in the car Lee was driving near Graham in 2016. Lee had alcohol, THC and methamphetamine in his system when he drove into a ditch, records show. This is Lee's second conviction for vehicular homicide.
The chain’s CEO said the plan is to liquidate all U.S. stores, and likely those in Australia, France, Poland, Portugal and Spain. Stores in Canada, central Europe and Japan would remain open for potential buyers for those assets. Some 30,000 employees could be without jobs.
