BELLINGHAM - The wind storm that swept through Whatcom County Thursday, Nov. 5, caused two major power outages near Bellingham and Ferndale and several smaller outages in outlying areas of Whatcom County.
A large tree limb that had fallen on a power line near Sand Road caused more than 650 Puget Sound Energy customers to lose power from 6:40 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
A fallen tree near Aldridge Road caused more than 400 customers to lose power from roughly 7 p.m. to just after midnight, said Abigail Elliott, PSE spokeswoman.
The smaller outages, mostly caused by tree limbs getting caught in power lines, remained mainly in rural areas of Whatcom County and affected roughly 20 to 30 customers each, Elliott said.
