State Auditor-elect Troy Kelley was fined $200 Thursday by the Public Disclosure Commission for what the commission described as “relatively minor” violations of state disclosure laws.
The PDC suspended half of the fine on the condition that Kelley does not commit any more violations in the next four years. The Tacoma state lawmaker, a Democrat, takes office as auditor next month.
Investigators found Kelley left information out of forms disclosing his finances to the public. But it dropped other allegations made by the state Republican Party in a campaign-season complaint that triggered the investigation.
Most of the information omitted about Kelley’s mortgage document-tracking company in 2008 was available in his previous disclosures.
