Vancouver VA campus to receive funds to modernize, repair, improve facilities

May 22-The Vancouver campus of the VA Portland Health Care System will receive funding to modernize, repair and improve healthcare facilities.

The funding will be used to improve ventilation, heating and cooling for laundry and warehouse facilities, and replace medical gas outlets for the comprehensive rehabilitation unit. It will also go toward completing information technology requirements to use a new electronic health record system.

The funding is part of a $4.8 billion nationwide investment in VA healthcare facilities through the Veterans Health Administration's Non-Recurring Maintenance program.

The Vancouver VA campus at 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. provides primary care, mental health and specialty health services.

"This funding allows VA Portland Health Care System to continue modernizing and improving, so our facility remains safe, efficient and equipped to provide high-quality care for our veterans in the Portland metro area," Karla Azcuy, director of the VA Portland Health Care System, said in a news release.
