Question: Dian Tallman of Gig Harbor wonders why drivers don’t have to show proof of insurance each time they go to renew license tabs. “This is such a simple question, and would take all the uninsured drivers off the roads, which in turn would lessen traffic, fuel consumption and no doubt bring insurance rates down for those of us who are conscientious law-abiding drivers,” Tallman concludes.

Question: Reader Joanie Dobesh of Spanaway wants to know how Pierce County determines speed limits. “In the Parkland/Spanaway area, there are some residential streets that are 25 mph, some are 30 mph, some are 35 mph and some are 40 mph,” she wrote. “There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the different limits.”
