700 Orting-area residents urged to evacuate homes
CommentsPierce County emergency officials are urging 700 residents in the Orting area to evacuate their homes to avoid flooding from the Carbon and Puyallup rivers.
A county emergency management spokeswoman, Sheri Badger, told KING-TV that automated phone calls went to the residents, and sheriff’s deputies went house-to-house overnight asking residents to move to higher ground.
