Re: “Sex Offender Registrations In Pierce County,” (TNT, 8/6).
Re: “The Five Spot,” (TNT, 8/7).
Some read tea leaves, others palms. I read The News Tribune to try and see more clearly into South Sound’s future. And frankly, it ain’t looking too good to me these days.
For instance, I see the sex offender industrial complex of the state of Washington, now so comfortably ensconced in Pierce County, alive and thriving, what with three more Level 3 sex offenders from outside our area moving into Tacoma.
No surprise, though, what with this sordid industry’s premier site — the Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island — now so stealthily and firmly anchored in the very heart of our serene South Sound waters.
The next day I read this paper’s editorial lament about DaVita moving its 500 remaining employees out of Tacoma.
Of course neither of these two relocations are connected. Just an ironic coincidence, I know.
Still, do you really think any of the folks at DaVita are going miss working in a city and county so welcoming to this ever-growing population of rapists, child molesters and violent sexual predators?
