Re: "Refuges planned for Tacoma, Pierce youth" (TNT, 12-27).
There is a huge need for places that can welcome young people in crisis, who have no family backup or until they can be living safely. To find a place for this project is not easy, but there must be a place to remodel with small rooms for overnight.
There is no bigger need than to help the young with all their struggles. They are the future, and they will in turn help when they are able. There should be enough help from such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, with many workers willing to help. Older volunteers could help in many ways to direct and be examples and assist in daily life.
I am not sure about building a new building if there is an available building that could be remodeled. But this is a big need, and young people should not suffer in this country. Doctors and dentists going overseas to help should help right here at home instead.
