In response to a letter (TNT, 1-25) condemning the woman who studied and practices Zulu healing techniques (TNT, 1-22): Several of the writer's points were extraordinarily offensive. Frankly, I'm surprised the letter was printed.
As a dedicated pagan (a valid world-view like most any other), I'm appalled by, but all too familiar with, the arrogant dismissal of all non-scientific, non-Western metaphysical mentalities as "superstition." If only I could effectively communicate to the writer the rich vitality of the spiritual reality I live in.
I am perfectly happy with her set of beliefs or lack thereof. I would ask the same respect for mine.
