I realize that our state legislators must grapple with huge issues such as balancing the budget, but there are small, easily changed, issues with big consequences.
Twice a year we shift our clocks ahead or back, but what is the advantage? I can think of none. However there are several disadvantages. First, the general torpor most people feel when they lose an hour of sleep, second the increase in auto accidents, third the increase in workplace accidents and errors, and last the time and energy to reset clocks in the home, car and workplace.
Since there are no real advantages to daylight savings, it should be a slam dunk for the folks in Olympia to join Arizona and Hawaii, and do away with it.
