State Sen. Tim Sheldon recently stated that teachers who walk out on strike should not be paid for the time they are out (TNT, 4-25). Isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black?
Sheldon is also a Mason County commissioner. He misses commission meetings while serving in the Legislature, yet continues to receive full pay as commissioner. Shouldn't he be docked his pay for not fulfilling his duties as commissioner?
Many of us in Mason County believe he should either be docked or give up his commission seat. This double dipping is costing residents of Mason County two times in taxes.
Speaking of docking pay, the entire Legislature should be docked their pay for the special session, for not fulfilling their obligations during the regular session.
