Re: "Many shocked to learn talc tied to ovarian cancer" (TNT, 5-3).
I was surprised when I read that it wasn't known that talc powder can contribute to cancer in women. I was informed of that more than 20 years ago. I immediately stopped using it and now make my own powder using cornstarch and a little baking soda.
It's too bad it has not been widely known, since there are bad consequences for some. In my opinion, too many people choose to not believe what they hear, thinking it is not true, or that it's impossible for that to be factual.
Being skeptical about things can be a very good thing, but at the same time, doing some follow-up on reports such as this is a wise thing to do also, rather than suffering consequences.
