The News Tribune editorial board got it right when it endorsed Dean Johnson for the Puyallup City Council at-large position (editorial, 10-14).
Johnson and his wife returned to Puyallup to raise their children in the community they love. As an employee of Nordstrom in Seattle, Johnson travels to and from work using the Sounder train. He is well aware of parking issues facing our city and is prepared to tackle them.
He has respect for everyone and integrity that is somewhat lacking on our current City Council.
As the editorial put it so well in the endorsement, Johnson’s opponent has been a “corrosive influence” on the current council. It is time for a change, and that time is now.
