“Saturday Night Live” is the perfect spot for the entire presidential campaign; the whole thing is a joke.
Thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court, our elections can now be bought and paid for. Americans learned in the 2000 election that our votes don’t even count. In 2014, more than 25 million voters nationwide voted for the Democrats, yet the Republicans were “elected” to the majority of congressional seats.
As the article pointed out, “in an era of fragmented media and increased competition for ad dollars, candidates ... are revenue sources.” Certainly there is no pretense of democracy. Its all about money.
