As a parent and grandparent in the White River School District, I believe there are many positives to gain if the community passes the upcoming bond measure.
Financially, since the previous bond has been recently paid, the bond will keep our tax rate at the current level. Our students, both current and future, will benefit from renovations which include security and safety upgrades at all schools, needed structural repairs, replacement of temporary portable classrooms in many areas, a major renovation of Glacier Middle School, playground improvements and sports field upgrades (including a stadium at White River High School).
This bond is about providing better learning spaces for the students and teachers at White River, These students are our future and our strength. It is our responsibility to provide them with an environment that will allow them to achieve their full potential.
Ballots are due by Feb. 9. I urge district voters to please join me in approving the White River bond.
