Diatribe against president doesn’t offer specifics

Re: “Anything Obama did would be an improvement” (letter, 5-4).

This is a childish, baseless rant against President Bush. The writer accuses Bush of being a “decider,” of breaking international law, violating the Constitution and alienating our allies, among other worn-out points.

I expect a president to make timely decisions and not be poll-driven. The writer failed to mention which laws were allegedly broken, or that it was Congress that forced the mortgage industry to lend to people with questionable ability to make good on their payments.

What civil rights has Bush violated? The writer doesn’t say.

As for alienating our allies, a pro-American attitude is sweeping through Europe as evidenced by recent elections in Germany, France and Italy. England’s liberal Labor party has just suffered its worst defeat in more than 40 years.

If President Bush cured cancer tomorrow, the writer would blame him for thousands of unemployed lab rats.
