Golf course views aren’t all that’s at stake

Re: “Ruling puts golf course back in peril” (TNT, 7-13).
I take strong issue with the contention that the opposition to this proposed development comes particularly from neighbors whose homes face the golf course.
This is a regional issue, and the original environmental impact statement responses clearly lay out the significant problems with schools, traffic and drainage. As an active member of SaveNETacoma, I am a Federal Way resident with no views of the golf course. I know many folks active in the opposition from as far away as Browns Point, Dash Point and Federal Way, as well as Northeast Tacoma.
I would certainly not dedicate any of my time, talents and treasure to this issue if this was mainly about preserving views for the adjacent residents. To portray this dispute as one about views presents a false picture for your readers and a lack of understanding of the broader issues involved.
This is a much larger and broader issue than is being reported to date.
