Cool it: Those hot baristas aren’t after your husband

I work as a barista at Hot Chick-a-Latte, one of the area’s popular “bikini” coffee stands. We’ve been getting a lot of abuse lately from those who misunderstand what we do.

Yes, we parade around our coffee stands half-naked and serve our beverages with a wink and a smile. However, we are in no way sluts, prostitutes or morally bankrupt.

It’s not easy for most people to get motivated without their morning cup of coffee. Waiting in line for mediocre service for 20 minutes at other stands doesn’t help.

Our outfits get people’s blood pumping. Our smiles and flirtation keep them on their toes. Our naughty jokes make even the shyest customers leave giddy, giggling and ready to start their days.

Nothing immoral or criminal goes on in our drive-throughs. There is no amount of money you can offer to get a glimpse of my bare breasts. I don’t want to go home with anybody’s husband.

The people out there scrutinizing what we do need to consider that calling girls they’ve never met “sluts” and “whores” over a chosen profession is as immoral as what they are accusing us of. Yes, we flirt and wear revealing outfits to promote our product. But most importantly, we’re sweet, intelligent and charming girls who serve up an amazing morning experience with our coffee.

Before you open your mouth to judge us, first open your mind and come try a cup. And try hard not to fall in love.
