Jan. 1 will be the first of 12 free days at Washington State Parks, according to a statement posted Thursday on the state park website.
On free days visitors are not required to display a $30 per year or $10 per day Discover Pass. Camping and other frees are still applicable.
“We hope the public will take advantage of a State Parks free day to get out and sample a new park or revisit an old favorite, and then consider supporting state recreation lands by purchasing a Discover Pass,” state parks director Don Hoch said in a prepared statement.
