Paine Field Aviation Day
What: Aircraft from the Flying Heritage Collection, and other aircraft, will take to the skies. The 21st annual event serves as an unofficial kickoff to the flying season. The Washington Pilots Association, Paine Field Airport, Flying Heritage Collection and Historic Flight Foundation will serve as hosts for the event.
When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 21.
Where: Paine Field Airport, 3407 109th St. SW, Everett.
In the air: Visitors will get the chance to see aircraft from the collection take to the air, along with aircraft from the Historic Flight Foundation and Cascade Warbirds. Flying is scheduled to begin at noon. Youths ages 8-17 can take a free Young Eagles flight. These will be on a first-come, first-served basis and the number of flights is limited.
On the ground: There will be a number of aircraft on display. Visitors will also have a chance to meet pilots and talk with flight school representatives.
Other activities: The day will start with a 5K run/walk. There will be several food vendors on hand, in addition to the firefighters pancake breakfast.
Admission: $10 for adults, free for children 16 and younger, and includes admission to the Flying Heritage Collection and Historic Flight Foundation. Free off-site parking and shuttles will be available.
