Crabbing: A delay in the commercial crab fishery along a portion of the Long Beach Peninsula does not include recreational crabbing. While marine toxin tests show that crabs caught off the Washington coast are safe to eat, state officials want to do additional testing before opening the commercial fishery. Oregon officials announced this week that commercial crabbing will be closed along the entire coast. California is studying domoic acid levels in crabs along its northern coast.
Razor clams: A three-day dig at Twin Harbors begins Saturday after tests showed that clams are safe to eat. The beach will be open after noon, with the best digging an hour or two before low tide. The low tides will be: Saturday, 4:47 p.m., 0.5 feet; Sunday, 5:24 p.m., 0.2 feet; and Monday, 5:59 p.m., -0.1 feet. Although there is rain in the forecast, wave conditions should not be an issue.
Hood Canal: The latest creel check showed that 51 anglers landed 149 chum.

South Sound: The Point Defiance Boathouse Marina staff reports that few anglers are heading out, but some have caught salmon around Fox Island during predawn hours. Marine Area 11 (Tacoma) is closed to salmon fishing. Squid fishing remains productive.
North Sound: Anglers have been catching fish near Whidbey Island. Squid fishing has been good in Edmonds and points south.
American: Trout and perch are biting for the few people heading out on the water. The lake was stocked Monday with almost 2,000 trout.
Anderson: This Jefferson County lake was stocked Monday with more than 1,000 trout.
Black: Stocked on Monday with 1,998 rainbow trout.
Fort Borst Park Pond: On Wednesday, the state added 1,980 trout.
Long: Stocked on Monday with 975 rainbow trout.
Offutt: On Monday, the state added 950 rainbows.
South Lewis County Park Pond: The state infused this fishing hole with nearly 2,000 fish on Tuesday.
Spencer: This Mason County lake got 275 new rainbow trout on Tuesday.
Sylvia: This Grays Harbor County lake was stocked Wednesday with 200 cutthroat and 100 rainbows.
Tanwax: On Tuesday, this year-round lake was stocked with 975 trout.
Bogachiel: Maybe the best option for steelhead fishing this weekend.
Hoh: Opened for salmon and hatchery steelhead fishing.
Nisqually: Closed to recreational fishing due to concerns over a low winter chum return.
Skykomish: The fishing hasn’t been worth the effort, and steelhead aren’t biting yet.
