2nd person suspected in Sumner killing arrested in Georgia

A 29-year-old Georgia man was arrested Wednesday on a Pierce County warrant charging him with killing a man outside a Sumner motel in December, police said.

The former Red Apple Market in Sumner, pictured at top, has been vacant since 2006. At that time, the city of Sumner explored selling the property to a developer for a mixed-use building that mirrored older downtown structures — shown above in a conceptual plan drafted by LMN Architects.
