The state Legislature should do right by these patients, and also city governments, to clear up the ambiguity of E2SSB 5073. The law, as its written now, makes no sense and does no one any good.

The state Legislature could use a few Angry Birds to clear the way for the budget. It’s taken a full 60-day session and a 30-day special session, and we’re hearing threats of another session, a third overtime period that lawmakers clearly saw coming last winter, when they scheduled a session in December to try to hash out what’s become an annual problem.
