East Pierce Fire and Rescue received a $10,000 grant which will be used to supply seven automated external defibrillators to each of the Sumner and Edgewood police stations. The department recently donated 10 AEDs to Milton.

Members of the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute filled a semitrailer with toiletries at Old Cannery Furniture on Thursday. They will deliver the toiletries to food banks in both Sumner and Puyallup on May 17.
