This week: PGA Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville, Kentucky.
Third-round score: 4-under-par 67.
Position: Moore (5-under 208) is tied for 23rd, eight strokes behind leader Rory McIlroy (13-under 200).
Recap: Trying to chase down McIlroy will be nearly impossible for Moore on Sunday. But the Puyallup golfer does have plenty at stake — specifically, a spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup team. He needs a big push — 65 or lower would be a good goal — to hopefully move past some of the golfers he’s battling with for those spots. Moore easily had his best day of the tournament Saturday (five birdies, one bogey). He bogeyed the 16th hole but recovered to birdie the 18th for a 67.
Never miss a local story.
Tee time Sunday: 9:45 a.m. (PDT) off the first tee with Sergio Garcia.
