Bumped into basketball coach Lorenzo Romar on Wednesday. And unlike with the football team, there seems to be nothing but good news.
He reports guard Harvey Perry's back is holding up well through off-season work.
The coach offered big-time praise for incoming guard Adrian Oliver. Understandably, UW fans are abuzz about 7-footer Spencer Hawes, but Romar implied that most fans don't yet understand just how good Oliver will be -- inside, outside, shooting, passing.
Romar also said 7-footer Joe Wolfinger has become stronger, wider, more skilled and more confident in his game over the off-season. He isn't Hawes, but he's more regularly holding his own against Hawes in workouts.
And finally, while transfer guard Tim Morris isn't eligible to play until 2007-08, he will be enrolled and therefore will be able to practice with the team throughout this season.
