Junior college transfer defensive end Anthony Atkins was added to the roster Tuesday and has begun his NCAA-mandated five-day acclimatization period. UW coach Tyrone Willingham indicated it is unlikely Atkins will play this season.
Jordan White-Frisbee has been shifted from defensive tackle to the offensive line in hopes it will take less of a toll on his twice-injured foot. White-Frisbee looked like a star in the making when he played defensive tackle as a freshman. However, injuries have slowed his career since. While recovering last season, he was shifted to offense, but was back on defense this season when his foot seemed on its way to healing. But it never fully healed and now he is back on offense, apparently to stay.
Walk-on receiver Troy Perry has been moved to defensive secondary.
Willingham said receiver Cody Ellis (broken clavicle) of Puyallup might return to practice next week.
