UW punter Sean Douglas has been named Pac-10 special teams player of the week for his performance Saturday against UCLA.
Douglas averaged 48.8 yards on five punts in the Huskies' 29-19 win over UCLA, including a 64-yarder and another that was downed inside the 20. Douglas leads the nation with a 48.8-yard average.
"(He has) the potential to be best punter in the country," UW coach Tyrone Willingham said. "… You're excited when he gets those kinds of awards. It was a good week for Sean."
Among the Pac-10 nominees were receiver Sonny Shackelford and linebacker Scott White.
