There was only minor news today on the health of the UW football team, and no news at all concerning basketball recruit Spencer Hawes.
Hawes was scheduled to undergo surgery today to remove a loose particle near his right knee. Recovery was estimated at 2-4 weeks, and that prognosis is likely to be updated Thursday when the Huskies hold a media event in advance of Husky Hoopla and the start of preseason camp Friday night.
Meanwhile, news was also scarce regarding football injuries as coach Tyrone Willingham reported that safety Dashon Goldson and linebacker E.J. Savannah were unrestricted at Tuesday practice, but that quarterback Isaiah Stanback (hip) and safety Jason Wells (concussion) were restricted. Willingham did not commit to anyone's playing status on Saturday, although Stanback, Goldson and Savannah -- at least -- appear probable for the 3:30 game against Oregon State.
