Amazing half. There is very little fluky about it so far ... Washington just looks like the stronger team.
The UW touchdown was a 49-yard, on-the-button pass from Bonnell to Russo.
Bonnell looks fine. He completed 8 of 11 with the touchdown. He also threw two interceptions, but neither was a purely bad throw. On the first, he threw outside - presumably as instructed -- to Reece on a corner patter, but Reece never got outside the defender. On the next, the ball was sort of forced to a covered Kirton, but the ball actually hit Kirton's hand and deflected to the defender. The line has also done a nice job for its new QB -- Bonnell wasn't sacked.
One questionable call that could come back to haunt UW was the decision to squib kick after taking a 10-0 lead. That gave the Bears possession at their own 42, giving them a short field for their final drive, which led to their only field goal.
