Washington athletic director Todd Turner confirmed today that he and basketball coach Lorenzo Romar have tentatively agreed on a longer and more lucrative contract for Romar – although the deal isn't finalized or signed.
Romar was entering the second year of an eight-year contract that paid an estimated $1 million a season. That contract was announced while the Huskies were in Boise during their postseason run in 2004-05.
The official announcement with more details is expected in a few weeks.
I'll write a little more about it in my column on Friday.
