UW coach Lorenzo Romar named his starters today for the Friday exhibition game against St. Martins at Hec Ed.
Most seasons, Romar uses a starting position in the exhibition game to reward his best rebounders at each position. However, he's not doing that this season, which makes this lineup a first snapshot of what the revamped team might look like this season.
Romar is starting Justin Dentmon and Ryan Appleby at the guards, Jon Brockman and Quincy Pondexter at the forwards and Artem Wallace at center. This could be four-fifths of the actual starting lineup, assuming Spencer Hawes moves into the center spot once he is healthy enough to go – which is expected by the start of the regular season a week from Sunday.
Romar added that all four true freshmen have earned playing time this season, and that his rotation could go 10 deep.
