The Washington Huskies signed a third basketball recruit today.
Darnell Gant, rated the No. 1 power forward on the West Coast according to Scout.com, signed a letter of intent to play at UW, Romar on the second day of the early signing period.
Gant is from Los Angeles, where he led Crenshaw High School to a 21-5 record last season. He was listed as the No. 12 prospect in the Best in the West poll conducted by the Long Beach Press-Telegram, is the nation's No. 50 recruit in ratings published by USA Today, and is No. 85 in the national rankings produced by PrepStars.
His announcement came one day after Romar had confirmed the signings of Matthew Bryan-Amaning, a 6-9 forward from South Kent (Conn.) School who was ranked No. 34 nationally by USA Today; and 6-6 forward Justin Holiday from Campbell Hall (Calif.) High School, who was rated No. 23 in the Best in the West poll.
