This is my third season covering Washington basketball. I'm not sure I've seen them play a better game.
Star of the game: Washington's Jon Brockman scored 19 points, pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds and had chief defensive responsibility on LSU star Glen Davis, who was limited to eight points. That ended Davis' 48-game streak of scoring in double figures.
Key stats: Washington had 21 offensive rebounds, and beat LSU on the boards, 44-34. … UW turned the ball over a season-low nine times.
Key run: UW big men Jon Brockman and Spencer Hawes set the Huskies' physical tone early, combining for UW's first 13 points as UW took an early 13-4 lead.
Observations: UW's Spencer Hawes tallied career highs with 23 points and 12 rebounds. … Hawes and Brockman each had double-doubles, a first for the Huskies this season. … Washington has out-rebounded every opponent this season. … UW attempted a season-low 13 three-pointers, but made a season-high 61.5 percent of them (8-of-13).
Next: 7 p.m. Friday, Weber State, Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
