LSU made a little time for the media after practicing at Hec Ed on Monday. That provided a little time for us to chat with the Tigers' double-double big man Glen Davis for a while. I had first dealt with him last season at the Final Four, and he was just as impressive this week.
A few of his thoughts on a variety of topics:
&bullOn what he knows about UW: "I know they've got a good coach. I know they've got pretty good big men. I know they've got a good shooter in Apple – like the fruit, right? I've seen them on TV a lot. I just know they're a good team. Brockman? Whatever. He's pretty tough, I heard; a good banger."
&bullOn LSU's sports pecking order: "I think Baton Rouge is always going to be a football state, but we just give a little entertainment here and there."
Never miss a local story.
&bullOn hearing that UW is looking forward to banging with him: "They look forward to getting physical with me? That's what they said? Wow. I think I bring that out in a lot of people."
&bullOn the NBA: "I don't really think about it. No regrets (about returning to LSU for his junior season). I love college. I'm having fun."
&bullOn the UW game game: "You come in here in a hostile environment and you beat a Top 20 team. That's what it's all about. That's March Madness man. You've got to love that."
