UW basketball coach Lorenzo Romar said today that he wasn't surprised by former Husky Nate Robinson's role in the brawl between the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks late in a game Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
Seven players hae been penalized by NBA commissioner David Stern, including Robinson, who was suspended for 10 games.
"I've never seen Nate back down from anything physical, anything competitive," Romar said. "If you challenge Nate Robinson and you get physical with him, he's not going to lay down. From what I saw on the footage, he was approached by J.R. Smith … and when they came at him, I didn't think Nate was going to lay down."
Robinson played at UW from 2003-05.
