There was one sequence late in the first half that reflected a lot of this game: ASU star forward Jeff Pendergraph, apparently trying to fire up his teammates and the fans in the quiet arena, went up in traffic and tried to throw down a monster dunk. The ball clanged high and hard off the rim and was finally scooped up by UW's Quincy Pondexter who darted down to the other end and dunked the Huskies to a 40-18 lead.
In other words, everything is going the Huskies way. Including a talent advantage.
UW is shooting 65.4 percent from the field, ASU 31.8 percent. UW has 19 rebounds, ASU nine.
Spencer Hawes is leading all scorers with 10 points. Ryan Appleby had nine – all on three-pointers. Jon Brockman has eight points, five rebounds and is leading with energy.
Christian Polk leads the Sun Devils with nine points -- all on three-pointers. Pendergraph has only four points.
