Before leaving McKale Center, I overheard a couple of Arizona fans discussing all the empty seats in one portion of the student section.
Clearly unhappy about it, one of the guys said, "The students have to learn that you can't just show up for the big games."
Yow. Over the past two or three seasons, Washington would have qualified as among the biggest of big games in Tucson, but it seems the Huskies' reputation has fallen every bit as quickly as its place in the Pac-10 standings.
The theme was continued on the game's radio post-game show. The hosts and some callers praised all the things the Wildcats had done well ... and then cautioned that it was "only against Washington." The hosts' take on the Huskies were that they weren't athletic, weren't deep, and offensively aimless with Justin Dentmon "just running around."
