COACH TONY BENNETT OVERVIEW:
"It was a hard-fought game. With Aron Baynes and Kyle Weaver getting in four trouble early in the first half, I thought the guys did a great job just to hand in there. Obviously, we had some trouble on the glass, but so many times in games it comes down to making plays, big plays, and Taylor (Rochestie) certainly did that. I thought we really battled and guys kept their composure. We come up with stops when we needed to. They weren't great, but they were good enough. When we were sharing the ball, we had some weapons and we showed that we are not just a one-man team. I know Washington played the night before and maybe they were a little fatigues, but I felt that our guys had a lot of fight and they fought hard - that was enjoyable. It is hard to be a team like (Washington) three times.
ON THE COUGARS CONFIDENCE
Our guys are pretty confident. I don't think theyh are overconfident, since they are humble, but yet they play with poise and that is the most important thing you could have when you play tournament basketball.
WSU JUNIOR GUARD KYLE WEAVER
ON BEATING UW THREE TIMES
It's one o fthe hardest things that you can do, but that's the beauty of basketball. On any night you can win one, or you can give one. And tonight we were the ones to get the win.
ON PLAYING USC TONIGHT
It will be another hard-fought battle. We will have our best stuff going out there again. The first one was a tight one at USC. And then there was the double-overtime at home. So I am looking forward to another close one. ... The guys are going to have to give it their all on both ends this time."
