COACH LORENZO ROMAR OVERVIEW
Washington State played a solid game. They kind of just played their pace. They played like a veteran team and never got rattled, never played any harder or softer. They just played the same way all the way through regardless of what happened. Tonight, the better team won. They did a nice job. They just kept grinding. It's hard to get them to turn the ball over. They only turned the ball over eight times. They were getting a shot at the rin almost every time. Their guards played very well.
ON THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE WIN OVER ASU THE NIGHT BEFORE
I think it was our inability to get stops. We couldn''t get stops. Taylor Rochestie had a heck of a game, and we couldn't keep him in front of us, and he made big shots. We got the ball inside quite a bit and tried to draw fouls and weren't able to come up with any.
UW FRESHMAN SPENCER HAWES
ON WSU DEFENSE
They mixed up double-teaming me with playing me man-on-man coverage.
ON THE NIT
As funny as this sounds, we have to look forward to the NIT. As much of a letdown as it is, we have to handle it as best we can. We still have to play games.
Never miss a local story.
ON THE NIT
We can't look at playing in the NIT as a consolation prize.
