The practice was closed today, so no first-hand news. Or any news at all, really.
However, we did get an opportunity to meet with some players and coaches. I concentrated mostly on receivers, and that will be the topic of my story in the Wednesday paper.
I met with new receivers coach Charlie Baggett, a very interesting guy. He believes he has the makings of a good receiving corps: enough speed and moves and the other ingredients to get things done if he can just coach them up. And he's coached up some of the best.
I also talked to the biggest UW receiver -- Marcell Reece -- and the fastest -- D'Andre Goodwin. Both are hoping for big years, and both seem eager to learn whatever a veteran coach with NFL experience such as Baggett can teach them.
The Huskies will be off Wednesday before returning for their third of 15 practices on Thursday ... which will also have them in full pads for the first time.
