No real news out of UW football today, because the team hadn't practiced since the last time we saw them at the Saturday practice.
However, I did get a first meeting with new freshman quarterback Ronnie Fouch and walk-on Chandler Clemons. They'll be the focus of my story for the Tuesday paper.
Both are interesting guys. Fouch, of course, gets points for being unafraid to come to a campus where he'll have to compete for playing time with Jake Locker. And not only was Fouch willing to come, but he also cut short his high school experience -- graduating early so that he could enroll at UW in time for spring. (He will return for his prom and graduation ceremony.)
And Clemons is trying to resurrect a football career that seemed shiny at one point, when he was offered a scholarship by no less of a quarterback school than BYU. However, Clemons decided to try baseball instead. That didn't work out, so now he's giving football another try as a Husky walk on.
