That's the word from Trojans' basketball coach Kevin O'Neill, who implied this morning that the success of the USC football team amounted to free advertising for the entire athletic program.
Here's the whole O'Neill response: “Pete was a great resource for all of us because anytime that ticker went across (the TV screen), our name came on the whole football season. When we had guys for recruiting visits he was really active with it. He’s going to be missed by everybody here. He’s a one-in-a-million-type guy. Unbelievable personality, unbelievably loyalty to the people he worked with and for. We’re going to miss Pete here very very much. But we’ll get another good football coach and the program will be great. But Pete will be missed."
