Here are a few Huskies' reactions to their come-from-behind 59-52 win over Oregon State tonight:
ISAIAH THOMASAny doubts?) Not really. With this team anything can happen. We knew that if we fought hard and played defense anything could happen. This was the third time playing them and nothing was really different. They were just hitting shots.
OSU's 2-3 zone) They were making us shoot. We were knocking down some shots, but we had to keep shooting and shooting with confidence.Stanford's up next after upsetting ASU) That was a big one. We have to take them one game at a time. Now it’s on to Stanford, and we’re ready for them. ... Green and Fields are two good players. We know they’re going to come at us. We need to stop them.
Surviving the Beavers) We played one of the worst halves we played this season. That’s the maturity of this team that we came together and said, man, we have to do whatever we need to to get this win.MATTHEW BRYAN-AMANINGAny doubts?) Never. As a team we’ve just come along. Maybe earlier in the year when we had trouble on the road or a neutral site. But now, we just knew what we had to do. We had to come out in the second half and get stops. One thing they were doing was getting multiple opportunities to score. We just wanted to shut them down the second half, get stops and get out and run a little bit.
Never miss a local story.
That 2-3 zone) With that 1-3-1 they push it up a little bit and it gives me a lot more room to operate. In that 2-3 there are guys roaming the baseline, and they were really aware of where we were. In the second half we were able to move the ball a lot better and it just felt a lot more fluid and we got some scores.
Stanford upset of ASU) Stanford, I just think everyone underrated them against ASU and kind of counted them out. They came out here ready to play. It shows how anybody can beat anybody in the Pac-10. We just have to contend with Fields and do a good job with their role players.
QUINCY PONDEXTER8:40 start time) I think everyone was anxious and ready for this game all day. I think we’re going to be better prepared (Friday) because we know that we’ll have to wait and we know how to channel our energy a little bit better. It might have contributed just a little bit. We were really anxious to play this game today. (Friday) we’re going to be a lot better prepared. Late game, that’s past my bed time.
Stanford's win over ASU) I watched a lot. Stanford came out and they had their number. They wanted it a lot more than Arizona State did. You can tell from the start. It will be a real battle (Friday). We know they have some tremendous players on their team. We know we’ve beaten them before, and they know that too, and they’re going to want to beat us on a pretty big stage.
